Account deletion
Last updated:
This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
HairTechPro (legal notice) publishes two apps, and the procedure differs depending on which account you want to delete:
- Lia — the app for salon clients. Deletion is done directly in the app; see below.
- Professional account — the HairTechPro app and the salon management web back office. One and the same account gives access to both. Deletion is requested by email; see “Your professional account” further down.
Deleting your Lia account from the app
- Open the Lia app.
- Open the menu, then Settings.
- Tap Deactivate or delete my account, then Delete my account.
- Read the consequences shown, then type the word DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Tap Permanently delete my account.
Deletion is immediate. You are signed out and your credentials no longer give access to the app.
A reversible alternative: deactivation
The same screen also lets you deactivate your account instead of deleting it. Your account is put on hold: you no longer appear in the salons where you are a client, you are signed out on every device, and your albums, diagnostics, routines and history are kept untouched. Your upcoming appointments are cancelled just as for a deletion — the slots go back to the salon and will not come back — and the photos attached to those cancelled appointments are deleted with them. To reactivate your account, simply sign in again with the same phone number or email address: you get it back as it was.
Can no longer sign in?
If you have lost access to the app or to your phone number, write to privacy@hairtechpro.ai from the email address linked to your account, or quoting the phone number you signed up with. We process the request once we have verified your identity, within one month at the latest.
What is deleted
Deletion erases the following data:
- your first and last name;
- your email address and phone number;
- your date of birth;
- your home address, including access instructions;
- your profile photo;
- all of your hair-diagnostic answers, including those entered by your stylist, and the health data they contain;
- your progress and inspiration albums, and the photographs they contain;
- the before / after photographs attached to your appointments;
- your chat history in the app;
- the personal notes your salon kept about you;
- your notification tokens, notification preferences and sign-in sessions.
The corresponding files are also removed from our storage.
What is kept, why and for how long
Some data cannot be erased, either because the law requires it to be kept or because it belongs to your salon rather than to your account.
Your invoices
Invoices issued for services you paid for, together with the corresponding PDF files, are kept for ten (10) years from the close of the relevant accounting year. This is the period required by article L. 123-22 of the French commercial code for accounting records and supporting documents. These invoices carry the name and address shown on the invoice at the time it was issued; the law prohibits altering them after issuance. Lawful basis: article 17(3)(b) GDPR (legal retention obligation).
Your salon’s own records
Your salon keeps a record of the services it has already performed — dates, services, products used, amounts. These records belong to the salon, which is their controller, and it needs them to run its business and keep its accounts. After your account is deleted, these records no longer carry your name: they are attached to an anonymous file. The free-text notes the salon had written about you are deleted.
Proof of deletion
We keep a technical record of the deletion itself, in which your identifiers appear only as cryptographic digests and never in clear text. It exists solely to evidence that the deletion was carried out.
Your upcoming appointments are cancelled
All of your upcoming appointments that have not started are cancelled as part of deletion and deactivation alike: the slots go back to the salon, and your stylist is notified of last-minute cancellations (appointments within the next 24 hours). If you want to keep an appointment, contact your salon before deleting your account.
An appointment already in progress at the time of the request is not cancelled automatically.
Deletion is permanent
Deletion is irreversible. Your account cannot be restored — not by you, not by your salon, not by our support team. Erased data cannot be recovered, and a new account will not bring back your history, your albums or your hair diagnostic.
Reusing your phone number or email address
Deletion releases your phone number and email address: they can be used again to create a new account. That new account is a separate account with no link to the old one.
Your professional account
One professional account gives access to both the HairTechPro app and the salon management web back office: there are not two accounts to delete. A single request covers both, and it removes your access to each of them.
Neither the app nor the back office offers self-service deletion, and an account that also holds professional access cannot be deleted from the Lia app either. Deleting a professional account is requested by email.
How to request deletion
Write to privacy@hairtechpro.ai from the email address linked to your professional account, stating the salon you work with. We verify your identity, then process the request within one month at the latest. We confirm the deletion to you in writing.
If you are still working at a salon, your account is attached to that salon’s subscription: we suggest telling your salon, whose work planning depends on your schedule.
What is deleted
- your first and last name;
- your email address and phone number;
- your profile photo, trading name and biography;
- your schedule, availability and periods of absence;
- your departure point and travel range;
- your saved kits and equipment;
- your notification tokens, preferences and sign-in sessions.
What is kept
The appointments you have already performed remain in the salon’s records, together with the corresponding invoices, which the law requires to be kept for ten (10) years (article L. 123-22 of the French commercial code). Those records belong to the salon, which is their controller and needs them for its accounts and to follow up with its clients.
The same applies to what you created or edited in the back office on the salon’s behalf — services, stock, salon settings, team records, client files: these are the salon’s and stay with it.
As with a client account, deletion is irreversible: your professional account cannot be restored.
